Toasted

In the middle of a little power struggle in our TM club. Hopefully, it's winding down now. I've gotten bored with it already, but I just wanted the boys to know I won't be disrespected. I may be a TM newbie, but I've been in plenty of group situations. I love this group, and I'm not going to get pushed around. Fortunately, I've got a lot of support. And I'm in a manic mode, so I'm feisty.

I've written a lot of extra emails today, and I called someone on my to-do list. Alrighty-then!

Introduction

I'm in between SLP jobs right now while I recover from being ill and the stress of my last job. I am still working, because if I don't have a reason to get up in the morning, I will not. So while I am still thinking:
  • I am tutoring a girl with cerebral palsy in reading and math.
  • I joined a Toastmaster group.
  • I increased my volunteer work.
  • I am working through a book called Pathfinders that is supposed to help with career counseling.
Today I started this blog in order to help me work through some professional issues and to give me an outlet for discussing speech/language geeky trivia, since I am not working in my field, and my husband doesn't understand it. I may also work on my speeches here for Toastmasters.

My younger son left for college last month, and my older son died in 2004 at the age of 16.
So, the guru dog, the cat and I are here trying to avoid temptation and accomplish at least one thing per day. I made a doctor's appointment and started a blog. Alrighty then!
